Seigo Nakamura is the founder of the Tora Corporation in Japan and the visionary behind ABURI Restaurants Canada. Miku Restaurant Vancouver (since 2008)

Situated along the Burrard inlet next to Vancouver’s landmark Canada Place, Miku overlooks the famous waterfront and is the proud pioneer of ABURI (flame-seared) sushi in Canada. Delivering gourmet ABURI cuisine paired with a lively, energetic ambience, Miku offers a full bar and lounge area, patio with an open waterfront view, private dining room, and full-service sushi bar. At Miku, traditional Japanese flavours and techniques are combined with local, west coast elements to create a truly unique dining experience enjoyed by locals and travellers alike.

Miku Restaurant Toronto (since 2015)

ABURI Restaurant’s first East Coast location is situated in Toronto’s Harbour Front at Bay and Queen’s Quay. With over 7000 square feet, a raw bar, sushi bar, and large patio, Miku Toronto brings contemporary upscale design to the Southern Financial District.

Minami Yaletown (since 2012)

Located in the vibrant Yaletown District, Minami combines traditional Japanese flavours with West Coast influences to create flavours that are both familiar and new. Minami is known for its ABURI cuisine, notably its Aburi Sushi Appetizers, innovative main courses and an extensive sake list. Minami’s intimate environment features a full bar and lounge area and a hidden garden patio. Minami is perfect for guests looking for a private getaway within the city.

Minami Restaurant Toronto (since 2020)

Named 2021’s Best Designed Restaurant in the Americas by Restaurant & Bar Design Awards. Minami Toronto is the fourth culinary concept from ABURI Restaurants, alongside sister venues Miku Toronto, ABURI TORA and ABURI HANA, further expanding the reach of our trailblazing Aburi cuisine within the Toronto culinary scene.

Minami Toronto has been curated to reflect the best of global design; guests are invited to immerse themselves in the space for a multisensory dining experience without departing the city. Minami’s diverse offerings, sultry interior, and commitment to safety set the new King West standard, showcasing contemporary Japanese fare and an extensive selection of signature cocktails, wines, and spirits.

ABURI HANA (since 2020)

Awarded Canada’s first Michelin Star, Executive Head Chef Ryusuke Nakagawa and ABURI HANA bring you Yorkville’s fine-dining concept by ABURI Restaurants Canada. It opened on January 15, 2020, offering a modern Kyō-Kaiseki dinner offering that can be experienced at its engaging Chef’s Counter or in a Kakurega private dining room. Chef Ryusuke Nakagawa artfully developed ABURI Hana’s multi-course menus to celebrate local and global ingredients. Service practices embody Omotenashi, an anticipatory style of hospitality that delivers an unforgettable experience.

ABURI TORA (since 2019)

TORA connects people and food through state-of-the-art technology. TORA’s restaurant concept uses a sushi concierge system- an intuitive ordering platform and a series of laneways that deliver your food directly from the chef’s hands to your table. TORA aims to create an exciting and new atmosphere while at the same time welcoming and fun.

TORA’s chefs have created a menu that highlights the quality you’ve come to expect from ABURI Restaurants, serving traditional Japanese dishes with our signature Aburi flair, as well as new and inventive creations. Dishes are meant to be shared, and the variety of offerings allows you to experience a multitude of flavours in one visit.

TORA’s signature EdoPrime Nigiri is firmly based in Japanese tradition, offering Edomae-style sushi with premium cuts of Japanese seafood, each brushed with our signature sauces. TORA’s Aburi Oshi sushi is pressed, paired with delectable sauces and garnishes, then flame-seared to bring out the natural umami flavour. TORA also offers a wide range of hot and cold dishes, desserts, and a Japanese-inspired beverage list.

GYOZA BAR (since 2014)

Now open exclusively for pick-up and delivery, Gyoza Bar’s menu is designed to reflect a casual appeal while providing a commitment to quality. Gyoza Bar features favourites such as gyoza and ramen, an innovative twist on conventional Japanese comfort food. 

ABURI TO-GO - TWO LOCATIONS (since 2021)

ABURI TO-GO is an elevated lifestyle grocery concept by ABURI Restaurants Canada, trailblazers in modern Japanese cuisine. A premier destination for consumers looking to enjoy fresh, authentic, and the most delicious Japanese meal and snack options available in one convenient location.

Shoppers can find finish-at-home meal kits, ready-to-eat bento and bowls, savoury Souzai Shojin appetizers, house-made delectable Japanese desserts and pastries, exclusive cooking sauces, imported snacks, and soon, Japanese plateware.
